What is all the talk about good nutrition for pets, does it make a difference?
RAIN certainly thinks so! In fact, almost all our foster cats, kittens, puppies and dogs eat a super premium food. While we could simply give them whatever we get donated we think the food we feed has a lot to do with the health of the animal.

Why?
Just pet a RAIN cat or kitten and that will answer all your questions. We constantly get remarks about how soft our feline's coats are and how lush they are. And our dogs coats? Well so many of them shine, shine, shine!
Does it really make a difference?
YES it does. Since almost all of our animals come from the shelters, they have probably been fed a variety of foods, or have been eating things as a stray that we really don't even want to think about. But as foster parents, we are always amazed that an animal that comes in with a scraggly coat becomes an animals with a soft, lush body of fur in a very short amount of time.
Another proof is in the occasional return of an animal that has been eating a lower quality food. Yes, sometimes a cat or dog is returned to us. For whatever reason, we always take them back. But one thing we do notice is the difference in their coats when they are returned after they have spent weeks, months or years eating a lower quality or grocery store brand food. It's just not the same. Their coat is more apt to be tangled, rough and just not shiny like it should be. But once they are back on a premium food, the transformation starts!
Another added benefit?
Less stool output! Yes, less stool means less scooping for cats and less pick up for dogs! Come on, be honest, we all can appreciate that one! To go along with that...there is also less smell! And we all like that.
