- Our major source of support is through the kindness of our donors.
- Certain vendors and organizations that believe in our work donate of discount food and other supplies and several veterinarians donate their services and needed medicines free or at a significant discount.
- A smaller portion of our income income is derived from adoption fees. In reality, adoption fees only cover a small portion of the funds already spent for an animal's veterinary and foster care.
- Our volunteers help to raise money by holding fundraisers and other events.

They keep their online processing fee very low and even offer you to cover it if you would like. RAIN receives the donation in a timely manner. Lists of contributors and volunteers are private, not shared with or sold to anyone. Donors receive records of contribution for tax purposes.

RAIN is financially sound and has permanent status as a 501(c)3 resulting from prompt and accurate filing of all federal and state tax information. We are funded through the generosity of donors, grants and grassroots fundraising efforts. No one in the organization receives a stipend—all proceeds are dedicated to veterinary care and pet supplies with a minimal amount being used on our web presence and marketing/advertising costs. We work closely with local pet stores and food manufacturers who provide us with generous discounts on food, litter and supplies.
