Hi, I'm Derek, I am a medium hair Lynx point ragdoll mix boy with vivid blue eyes. I am almost 7 years old. Life hasn't been too easy for me. I was adopted out as a kitten and was in my home for about 1 1/2 years and then I was returned because the granddaughter no longer really wanted a cat anymore. Then I got adopted out to a new home where I was promptly shoved in the backyard and left to pretty much live outside all the time with my friend McKinley. One of the RAIN volunteers was looking on Craiglist for kittens to foster and found an add for two cats. When she clicked on it, she thought the two cats in the picture looked a bit familiar, but then she noticed the person's email address and knew we were RAIN kitties. She called them and got us both back. We were being given away because the "kids are no longer interested in the cats". Talk about a good memory, I am so glad that fate led her to click on our info and get us back to our former RAIN foster homes. There's a real good reason why you should get a cat for your whole family and not just for a kid or kids. Make it a family decision so that it's lifelong adoption! I am a mellow, rather reserved cat. I will do best in a quiet home with another nice cat or cats. Although, I am fine when the kids at my foster home come over to pet me (I like it), I would rather not live with very young children as I think they might be too active and noisy for me. I like the little maltese dog at my foster home too. I LOVE the other cats and light up when they come in my room, I like to rub all over them and roll over too. I am very friendly and sweet, but will take some time to get used to new home. I like to sit on a warm lap and love to be brushed. I probably will be one of those kitties who hides when people come over, but I do come out and visit when things quiet down. So my wishes this time (I've been around the block, so I know what I want and what I don't want). I want a patient and loving home that will allow me a week or so to get used to a new home. I want someone that is willing to wait for me and someone I can trust. This time, I want a permanent home, I have lots of years of life left in me and know that I will find someone who is just perfect for me. I don't want a home where I will be shoved outside and ignored or one where things are too noisy or chaotic. A quiet home, with another loving cat would be great. Just please don't adopt me because I am so handsome, adopt me because I will be your loving kitty, just make it this time for life!
